Cartec Training is currently involved in an exciting community initiative called the Passport 2 Employment (P2E) program, commencing this week. This program provides pre-employment training to assist students with disabilities who have been identified as benefitting from extra transition education, preparation and support.
The main objectives of the program include:
- Motivating and empowering students to continue to engage and achieve with education throughout their secondary schooling years
- To provide participants with skills and knowledge that will assist them in seeking, finding, obtaining and retaining employment and/or further education training opportunities
- Information sharing and networking with business and industry, community and also related support agencies
The program runs as a weekly session for 8 weeks, focusing on topics like employability, communication, presentation and life skills, addressing systematic barriers to employment and/or further training and exploring pathways, nutrition, fitness and healthy eating.
The overall aim is for participants to graduate from the program with positive aspirations and attitudes towards life after school and a belief in what they can achieve.
Cartec Training is proud to be involved in the Passport2Education program, as we firmly believe in improving the futures of students and helping our community!
